Despite three attempts, I couldn’t get through more than three rows of the lace edging pattern for the Garter Lace Jacket from Simple Style without making errors. The fact that I was watching old episodes of Sherlock with my husband didn’t help. Normally, I’m not one to give up (and especially not when it’s a pattern I’ve already knitted), but all of those pesky knits and purls through the back loops were giving me fits.
I decided to try the traditional Old Shale or Feather and Fan pattern instead, which just happened to repeat over the same number of stitches.
I think I’m on my way!
Where there’s a will there’s a way!

;-D Well, I’m sure your three attempts is the equivalent of my 20. Twenty is probably my minimum # of times I restart a project. At least you recognize when to move on and try a different way.
Looking forward to your progression and notes along the way.
I make mistakes and have to “tink all of the time. I get discouraged and put the knitting down so I won’t quit altogether. It’s good to know that a “master” like you makes mistakes but you continue to make beautiful items. You are an inspiration.
old shale and feather&fan are not the same !
