Knit For Fun Retreat Recap

I can hardly believe that it’s been more than a week since my first Knit For Fun Retreat, which took place in Park City, Utah. I’ve unpacked my car but have yet to organize all the stuff!

For this first retreat, Nancy Bush and Susanna IC joined me to teach a wide variety of classes.

If Nancy (on the left) looks like a cat who just swallowed a canary, it’s because the grand-prize raffle raised more than $1,000 for her to send to the Haapsalu Lace Center in Estonia. Each of the three winners secured a sweater’s worth of yarn and a cool bag or copy of The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters. Just look at those happy faces!

Haapsalu Donation Winners

Every participant received a Knit For Fun tote bag full of yarn, tools, and cool things that even non-knitters would appreciate.

One of the highlights was the theme song, sung to the tune Take Me Out to The Ball Park.

Take me out of my routine

I need to go knit for fun

I’ll learn techniques and make new friends

I’ll want to come back again and again

I can knit, knit, knit in my jammies

While someone else cooks and cleans

It’ll be one, two, three days of fun

Like I’ve only seen in my dreams!

The next retreat takes place in Estes Park, Colorado, September 22 – 25, where you can join Galina Khmeleva and me for three more days of fun. Click here for details.
