In October, I’ll head north to Edmonton, Alberta, to teach at River City Yarns‘ 12th annual knitting retreat. The “official” retreat goes from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, October 25, but you can extend the fun and take additional classes Thursday, October 22, and Monday, October 26.
I’ll be teaching Reading Your Knitting, Fixing Mistakes, Intro to Sweater Design, Shadow Knitting, Sweaters From the Top Down: Set-In Sleeve Style, Mitten Basics, and Knitting Steeks and Inserting Zippers.
As a bonus for attendees (the pattern will be available through River City Yarns after the event), I’ve designed a project out of one of River City Yarns exclusive yarns–Adam & Eve.
Adam & Eve is the “offspring” of their original yarn, Eden, an exclusive line of yarn dyed by Handmaiden. Both Eden and Adam & Eve are luscious combinations of 81% superwash merino (for durability and convenience), 9% cashmere (for luxury), and 10% nylon (for strength). Eden is DK weight, while Adam & Eve is fingering weight.
Eden and Adam & Eve are only available at River City Yarns but you don’t have to travel to Edmonton to get them! Click on their online store (http://shop.rivercityyarns.com/store/filtered/d_12/b_River-City-Yarns-%25-Adam-%26-Eve/) to order some to be sent directly to you.
I’m not allowed to disclose the details of my pattern, but I can tease you with a close-up photo. You have to hold it in your own hands to appreciate the softness and drape.
