I enjoy the stages when I don’t have to think about my knitting and can just knit around and around. In a way, it’s like being on vacation while I’m knitting. I’ve made a lot of progress but I haven’t had to pay much attention.
But all that’s about to change as I approach the base of the patterned area of the yoke. For the next six to eight inches, I’ll need to focus on every other round. It’s not an accident that I’ve chosen a pattern in which every other round is a “plain” round. As much as I like the trickery of complicated knitting patterns, I’m partial to ones that let me relax along the way.
