Website Relaunch

The web fairies were hard at work in the wee hours to improve my website and blog. From now on, only one address is needed for my website, blog, books, and patterns– annbuddknits.com.

In celebration, I think a gift is in order!

Add a comment to this post telling me which of my print books you’d like to win (sorry, electronic books are not eligible) and why (I’m always interested). I’ll use a random number generator to pick a name and announce the winner on Tuesday, August 27.

  1. wHATA GREAT WEBSITE. I WOULD BE THRILLED WITH ANY BOOK, ALTHOUGH I AM NOT REAL ADVANCED. THANKS ANN

  2. The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters as I love sweaters and have been wanting to try knitting one using the top-down construction method.

  3. I would like to win Socks Master Class because I would like to have the information that is in the book all in one place a portable even if I can not get on line. Also this would be a great addition to my collection of your books.

  4. getting started knitting socks… i have to admit that i had one before, but it is tatters and I use it all of the time, a new one would be devine!

  5. Congratulations on the relaunch! The new layout is great. 🙂
If I happen to be the lucky winner, I’d have to go with the Scarf Style 2 book because it’s one of the few I don’t have yet and because I’d get a lot of use from it. Scarves make great gifts for everyone, and I sometimes adapt a scarf pattern to a vest or blanket.

  6. So happy to have recently subscribed to your blog . I think I already own most of your books but thank you anyway .

  7. Ann – Love your new logo. Perfect for you. I was gifted with the Knitted Handy Book of Patterns, and it’s been a go-to accessories books for years. Both the Simple Style and Top-Down Sweaters books have their own appeal, but I guess the next reference book I’d really love to have is the Knitter’s Handy Book Of Sweater Patterns. The charts for different gauges and yarns are invaluable, and your instructions are always so clear. (If I sound like a fan, I am! No affiliation … and not a textile professional.)

  8. I am enjoying your blog, and look forward to each entry.
If I should be the lucky winner, my book choice would be Scarf Style 2, and thank you.

Congratulations on the new improved website! Okay okay. Pick a book? Okay. Sock Knitting Master Class. That’s one I don’t own. I am on a major book budget – because my flock keeps growing and shearing costs more every year 😉 – and the local library doesn’t have a copy. Rock on, Ann!

  10. Congratulations on the new website! I would dearly love to win the new Scarf Style. I believe I am lucky enough to have all the others on my shelf. You were one of my very first ‘teachers’ through your books.

  11. Hello from Montana! I am loving the new format. It suits you and represents your work well. As you know, there is an ever-growing number of “Ann Budd groupies” here because of your wonderful visits and classes at Wild Purls. If my number comes up, I will want Scarf Style 2. All best wishes.

  12. I would certainly like to win the Sock Knitting Master Class as I have always wanted to learn to make socks and with so many grandchildren (9) I have plenty of little feet to make socks for. Thank you for the refreshed website.

  13. I would love to win your Getting started with socks. I have a copy and would love to gift a copy to my daughter, who has started knitting socks. Your book is the only book anyone needs who wish to knit socks. I use your book as a reference when I have a question or someone else does. Thanks.

  14. Ann,
Loved your class at Webs this summer! Learned a lot & had a ton of fun! If I were to be lucky enough to be picked, I think I would enjoy your new Scarf book. Come back east!

  15. New website design is lovely, fun and smooth! You’re my sock guru and I’m eternally grateful for your clarity of explanation and impeccable math skills. Whenever I help someone learn to knit socks, Getting Started Knitting Socks is something I urge the knitter to buy or find at the library, as your directions are the best ever. Using your Book of Patterns, I’ve learned to knit mittens in every size specified by your clear directions for my charity project this year. Scarf Style 2 is on my wish list. You totally rock!

  16. I have challenged myself to become a better sock knitter and recently published the Master Sock Class book, which I love! The DVD provides great visuals of techniques. Please provide tips, techniques for decreasing the “ladders” created between the needles. I received several blogs, hoping for a resolution but have been unsuccessful. I look forward to your suggestions.

  17. Very snazzy new design. I’d like the new scarf book, since it’s the only one I don’t already have.

  18. I love the A with knitting needles. It would be hard to choose between Scarf Style 2 and your Master Sock Knitting books. Either would be wonderful to win.

  19. Congratulations Ann & Fairy’s I really love the look of the new web site. If I am lucky I would like the original scarf book please

  20. I would love to win “Simple Style” to add to my small-but-growing collection of your books. After attending your class at WEBs, I want everything Ann Budd!

  21. Congrats on the new website! I would love the book getting started knitting socks, because I would like to try knitting a sock.

  22. I am new to your website and I knew I would love it because I really love your books; they are so helpful and I refer to them often! If I am lucky enough to win, Simple Style is a title I don’t currently own. Thanks for the chance!!

  23. I love the “one stop shop” of your new website! You have it all in one place, how Awesome is that! I would love Scarf Style 2 because I don’t have that one yet……….How generous of you to share one of your collection with us! You Rock!

  24. Wow, I didn’t know I had almost all of them, Scarf Style 2 and Handy Book of Patterns are the only 2 I don’t have.

  25. Hi Ann,
Your new website is great. I already have most of your books but another copy of Getting Started Knitting Socks would be most welcome. I have other sock books but I always go back to this one…especially for the instructions on the Kitchener Stitch.

  26. The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters – I dislike sewing seams and it is nice to be able to try them on and adjust the fit.

  27. Sharyn Williams

Five Easy Pieces — the new Ann Budd at Quince and Co. I just love the book, the patterns, the look — I just love this book. Good luck with the transition — congratulations!

  28. Five Easy Pieces I have most of your other books and just love the top down sweater one. I just finish a top down sweater for myself and I can’t see me constructing a sweater any other way.i

  29. Love the new site! I would love to win Scarf Style 2 . I flipped through a friend’s copy of it the other day and saw several projects that I would love to make!

  30. I would love to have The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top Down Sweaters. It is my favorite way of knitting sweaters, but I have only made them with raglan sleeves, and I would like to have more sleeve options. Additionally, I already have The Knitters Handy Book of Sweaters and The Knitter’s Handy book of patterns. I think I need the set!

  31. Therese Inverso

I’d love to get the new Scarf Style book because it looks like you have some interesting scarves again!

  32. I’ve been a sockaholic for over 10 years–it’s an addiction I intend to hold on to. Would love your Sock Master Class book.

  33. Your new website is awesome. Very sleek and things are easy to find. I’d love to win the new scarf book (I already have all your other books – they’re all wonderful). Thanks for giving us a chance.

  34. I would choose Scaft Style 2 because, at this point, I don’t need another sock book, as much as I would like sock knitting master class. Besides, it’s always fun to have the very newest knitting books.

  35. The new site looks great and top down sweater was a wise choice for the book picture, I look forward to that book

  36. I am sure I’m not ready for this – but oh the book on lace patterns. There’s just something about lace that I love.

  37. Your new web site looks good. I like your book on top down sweaters. I have been borrowing it from the library and would like my own copy.

  38. Congrats on the new look at the web site! I’ve been meaning to buy the Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters. I’d really like to learn how to do the set-in sleeves top-down! (I need to try on as I go, because I apparently have no realistic idea of what size I actually am! Body measurements are getting me closer, but trying it on and adjusting on the fly seems to be my recent MO.)

  39. I would love the Handy book of Top-down sweaters! I love to spin and these formulas work great with handspun. I have your first handy book of patterns, but I like knitting top down.

  40. I have all your books with the exception of The Knitters Handy Book of Sweaters and the upcoming Scarf Style 2. Would be very thrilled to win either of them.

    Anna in Sweden

  41. I already have and love your Getting Started Knitting Socks and the Master Sock Class Books. A lot of Ravelry posts on your forum rave about your Knitters Handy Book of Top-down Sweaters, so that would be my choice.

  42. phyberphreak (Ravelry)

Love your books – nice new look to the site =) The book I don’t have my own copy of is The Knitters Handy Book of Patterns.

  43. I love the layout of your new site. I’m glad to see the Formulas and How to sections. I have a lot of Christmas knitting to complete and would love Knitted Gifts.

  44. I love the A in your new design, too cute. I would love to win your Favorite Socks book. Imaginary knit socks and already have the Master book.

  45. Sock Knitting Master Class for me. I got started sock knitting this year, with the help of your toe-up pattern from Interweave Knits, and I’m addicted! I’d like to learn the full range of techniques presented in this book.

  46. I would love to win the the the Handy Book of Top Down Patterns. I have the other two “handy books” and refer to them often. They are superb.

  47. I would love to have your Top Down Sweater book. I need to make myself a sweater. I have never done this and it is time.

  48. Lucy Harrington

I have all your books except for the new Scarf Style 2. Guess which one I would want? lol Love your work! It has made my knitting such a pleasure, and for that I thank you most sincerely.

  49. Ann/ knitzippy on ravelry

Beautiful website–fresh, pretty and uncluttered! I’d love to move to the next level of sock knitting. Right now I can knit socks, following your directions, but I haven’t internalized the knowledge of how socks are structured. So it’s a little bit like lurching along with a recipe each time. I’d love to have “Sock Knitting Master Class” to really understand what I’m doing.

  50. If I win it’s author’s choice! I’m in your hands. If I happen to already own it it will go to my daughter, a fabulous knitter, but on a budget, bookwise among other things. (Her money goes into fabulous yarns!)

  51. I love the new website! Very modern!!!

I would love a copy of the new Scarf Style book

  52. Like everyone else, love the redesign. =) If I had to choose a book, it would be either The Handy Book of Sweater Patterns (maybe it would help me overcome my fear of seaming) or Knitted Gifts (because it’s always nice to have a new, quick knit handy).

  53. I’d love the Knitter’s Book of Top-Down Sweaters. I have the digital version, but really prefer a print book! Thanks for the chance to win.

  54. So hard to decide! If I was the lucky winner, I would love the Knitter’s Handy Book of Top Down Sweaters.

  55. All your books are incredible, but I think I would like to win The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters. There is so much good stuff in there!!!

  56. Lovely web redesign, Ann! I would love a copy of Simple Knitted Gifts. There’s nothing like picking up a copy of one of your favorite designer’s books, and launching a new, quick project when the late summer knitting trolls are at the gate! I adore the easy-to-follow, inspiring patterns in this one.

  57. I’ve got quite a few of your books which are always my ‘go to’ books for sock knitting, but would love ‘Scarf Style’.

  58. Scarf Style 2 looks interesting – I have a cupboard full of yarn where I have too little for a sweater but probably enough for a scarf!
